Georgia: 1st Workshop on Municipal Development Coordination Platform (MDCP), Tbilisi, 05/03/2019

In Tbilisi on 5th of March 2019 there will presented Municipal Development Coordination Platform (MDCP) to the CoM city-signatories, Covenant Territorial Coordinator, and Covenant Supporters.

Platform will bring together local communities of cities or towns, local, regional and state government, private investors or donors, technical assistance projects and international organizations, business and other stakeholders and development activities that are focused on the following issues:

• Improving the energy independence of the local area, community and country.
• Reduction of CO2 emissions on the local area, the region and the country as a whole by at least 30% by 2030 through energy efficiency and increasing use of renewable energy sources on their territories.
• Development of environmentally oriented economy and quality of life of the local area, community and country.

During event CoM East expert and CNC will cover  “Establishment of Municipal Development Coordination Platform and its Role in the Implementation of the Covenant of Mayors Policy” and "Climate Policy  in Georgia & International Commitments/Obligations; Nationally Contributed Contribution (NDC) and the CoM Municipalities’  Role in the  Implementation of  National policies". Also CoM CTC and SIGN will report on achieved goals in sphere of sustainable (green) energy and/or environmental (climate change) projects implemented on their municipal territories.
