The Ukrainian gas transmission system operator Uktransgaz issued a request, supported by the Ukrainian National Energy and Utilities Regulatory Commission, for the Energy Dispute Resolution Centre to facilitate their negotiations over the  implementation of amendments to the Ukrainian Gas Transmission Code. The amendments are supposed to enter into force by 1 August 2018.

The amendments to the Code were adopted on 27 December 2017. They were intended to enforce daily balancing, which is crucial for further market development. The amendments, among other improvements, transposed certain provisions of Commission Regulation (EU) No 312/2014 on establishing a network code on the gas balancing of gas transmission networks.

The Energy Dispute Resolution Centre appointed Mr Predrag Grujicic, the Head of the Energy Community Secretariat Gas Unit, as facilitator for the dispute.
