On 20 November, the Energy Community presented the draft methodology for calculating tariffs for ancillary services to the National Energy and Utilities Regulatory Commission (NEURC) and state enterprise National Power Company “Ukrenergo” in Ukraine. The new methodology was developed as part of the EU assistance under the under the EU4Energy Programme.

This is one of the steps for Ukrenergo and the NEURC in the preparation and development of an ancillary services market. Once adopted by the NEURC, the methodology will serve to implement the Electricity Market Law in line with the relevant provisions of the Third Energy Package.

The action is part of the EU4Energy Initiative’s support for Ukraine in reforming its wholesale electricity market in accordance with the Energy Community acquis.
