On 5 December, the EU4Energy technical assistance project to help Georgia update its gas transmission tariff methodology in compliance with Energy Community regulations was launched in Tbilisi. The Georgian National Energy and Water Supply Regulatory Commission (GNERC) hosted the launch event.

The establishment of an entry-exit methodology for gas transmission tariffs is part of the natural gas market reform being carried out by Georgia, pursuant to its commitments under the Energy Community Treaty.

The draft methodology for Georgia will be delivered by March 2019. In the long term, it will contribute to the opening of the Georgian wholesale and retail natural gas market, promoting investments in gas infrastructure and enhancing security of gas supply in Georgia.
