On 13 February, Energy Community experts and representatives of the Ministry of Economy and Infrastructure of Moldova met in Chisinau to set in motion technical assistance to support the Moldovan Government with the implementation of Law no 128/2014 on Energy Performance of Buildings.

The support will consist of updating the minimum energy performance requirements for new buildings and those that undergo major renovations. Applying the new building requirements will result in the lowest possible energy costs during the estimated economic lifecycle of the building.

The assistance is part of EU4Energy’s support for the country in fulfilling its commitments under the Energy Community Treaty, transposing the main provisions of Directive 2010/31/EU, and builds on the gap analysis of the Energy Performance of Buildings Law in Moldova and the updated Energy Performance Calculation Methodology recently developed under the EU4Energy Governance project.
