On 21-22 October, experts from Croatia and Greece will visit Georgia to discuss the 2003 EU Energy Directive on taxation of energy products and electricity, and approximation of Georgian legislation to it, with the country’s Finance Ministry.

The expert mission aims to support the Ministry during a gap analysis of their tax legislation and assist in elaborating necessary amendments.

Under the Association Agreement with the EU, Georgia is set to implement the 2003 EU Directive on restructuring the community framework for the taxation of energy products and electricity. The mission will help the country with this transition.

The workshop is organised by the European Commission’s Technical Assistance and Information Exchange Instrument (TAIEX) in cooperation with Georgia’s Ministry of Finance.
