On 28 September, the Energy Community Secretariat published its final policy guidelines on the integration of renewables self-consumers into the energy networks.
The guidelines aim to provide advice to policymakers in the Contracting Parties on developing legal and regulatory frameworks for renewables self-consumption. The document also aims to empower final customers to actively participate in the self-consumption of renewable energy. The guidelines follow the latest legal requirements provided under the EU’s Clean Energy Package (soon to be adopted by the Energy Community).
As part of the guidelines, the Energy Community Secretariat will also organise workshops on best practice examples from the EU. Special attention will be dedicated to the development of suitable frameworks for renewable energy communities.
