The residents of homeowner association ‘Franko 55’ in the Ukrainian city of Khmelnytskyi have fully renovated the heating systems in their apartment buildings, which will allow them to save up to 30–40% on heating costs. The project cost was UAH 1.9 million (around €56,000), of which ‘Franko 55’ residents had to cover only 20%.

This was possible thanks to the programme ’Energodim’, which is implemented by the Energy Efficiency Fund in Ukraine with support from the EU and other international partners. The programme provides grants to homeowner associations to make their apartment buildings more energy efficient.

The Energy Efficiency Fund actively supports and implements thermal modernisation activities in Ukraine and aims to bring Ukraine’s energy efficiency up to European standards by reducing the level of energy consumption and СО2 emissions in the residential sector.
