An EU4Energy kick-off meeting took place in the Moldovan capital of Chisinau on 15 July. The meeting focused on support in the development of a long-term strategy for mobilising investment in the renovation of national building stock of the Republic of Moldova.

The event brought together the Moldovan authorities and energy experts. The main focus of the event was on ways to address limited availability or absence of data regarding the building stock, as well as the availability of documents and information regarding past, ongoing and planned policies and measures, including information on energy audits and energy efficiency measures that have been applied.

The participants also discussed the possible financing mechanisms and financing sources and plans for promotion of nearly zero-energy buildings.
