Two Ukrainian start-ups presented their ideas at the ‘Green Innovators, Wake Up!’ media event, organised in Kyiv by Greencubator.

Yevgen Erik, СEO of SolarGaps - Solar Panel Window Blinds, presented the plans for a green, zero-harm emissions factory that the company is planning to build in Ukraine in the near future. At the same time, the founder of Sirocco Energy Olexandr Priymak shared his company’s vision of a new wind turbine that generates energy in cities.

The ‘Green Innovators, Wake Up!’ media events aim to highlight Ukrainian start-ups that implement climate-friendly technologies. The events are organised as part of Climate Innovation Vouchers, a joint programme from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and the Delegation of the European Union to Ukraine. Through the programme, 31 beneficiaries have received funding for the development of their green business solutions, worth a total of €1 million.

The Climate Innovation Vouchers programme was launched as a part of the EBRD programme ‘Finance and Technology Transfer Centre for Climate Change’ (FINTECC) (which is funded by the EU), and implemented by the NGO Greencubator.
