A high-level policy talk on the subject of “Coal Regions in Transition and the Energy Community” took place on 13 September in Natolin, Warsaw.
The event was co-organised by the European Commission, World Bank, Energy Community Secretariat (with the support of the EU4Energy Governance project) and College of Europe, under the auspices of the Polish Presidency of this year’s United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP24).
More than 80 representatives attended the event, including Ministers and Deputy Ministers, mayors and other representatives of local governments, industry, NGOs, social partners and academia from the Energy Community and the EU Member States. Lively and fruitful discussions indicated how much such an initiative is needed and set the standards for the follow-up actions.
