On 5 December, a round table on "Quality Assurance in the Design and Implementation of Energy Efficiency Measures in Apartment Buildings" took place in Kyiv, Ukraine. The representatives of the Ministry of Communities and Territories Development of Ukraine, the Energy Efficiency Fund, and various expert organisations and manufacturers of equipment and materials participated in the event.

The participants of the event discussed the issue of determining the class of consequences for apartment buildings, the types of construction for projects to be implemented under the “Energodim” programme, and the achievement of an energy efficiency class not lower than the minimum requirements for different types of construction work. They also raised the issue of glazed balconies, technical conditions and other issues in the construction market, which require a systematic approach and the introduction of comprehensive legislative changes.

During the event, Yegor Fareniuk, Technical Director of the Energy Efficiency Fund, proposed to develop an album of technical solutions and re-use projects that would include energy efficient measures from the Energy Efficiency Fund packages. He also recommended to improve the quality of installation work and prepare tools and procedures for the quality check of the materials used  during construction work.
