A Ukrainian start-up, BIOsens, became the winner of one of the most prestigious competitions in green energy, the Expo Live’s Innovation Impact Grant in the framework of the Expo 2020 Dubai. The company also won the EU and European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) Climate Innovation Vouchers Programme, providing grant funding of up to €50,000 for researchers and businesses proposing energy efficient technologies and schemes to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in Ukraine. The Innovation Vouchers Programme is administered by Ukraine's Greencubator under the umbrella of the EU-funded and EBRD-implemented Finance and Technology Transfer Centre for Climate Change (FINTECC) project.

BIOsens developed a prototype device for the rapid diagnosis of food toxins in agricultural products. Thanks to this gadget and the early detection of contamination in agricultural crops, farmers will save resources for extraction, detoxification and reprocessing, which will reduce CO2 emissions and other environmental pollutants and boost green energy.
