On 29 January the Energy Efficiency Fund in Ukraine, of which the EU is one of the biggest donors, and the two cities of Ukraine, Novovolynsk and Volodymyr-Volynskyi, have signed memorandums of understanding. The memorandum should ensure the creation of appropriate conditions for the consumption of energy resources, reducing the cost of utilities for condominiums and increasing the level of comfort and living conditions in apartment buildings.

Both signing ceremonies took place during the presentation of the programme for support of energy modernisation of the apartment buildings.

The foundation's cooperation with Ukrainian cities is also actively moving towards adapting local apartment building support programmes to the Energodim programme. To date, 8 cities have transitioned and approved their own programmes. Another 10 city councils, together with the Energy Efficiency Fund, are working to adjust local programmes to meet the requirements of the Energodim programme.
