Armenia: EUSEW2020 Webinar “Sustainable Energy Path to Post-pandemic Economic Recovery” and online quiz

On June 24 the webinar on “Sustainable Energy Path to Post-pandemic Economic Recovery” was held for CoM signatories in Armenia in the framework of the EU Sustainable Energy Week (EUSEW2020). 

The event was organized by the CoM East project in cooperation with Energy Saving Foundation (Covenant Supporter in Armenia) and UNDP Armenia for the representatives of municipalities and municipal structures. The webinar was attended by 20 participants.

The following topics were discussed: sustainable energy path to post-pandemic economic recovery: what municipalities can do; climate policy in the context of “EU4Climate” EU-UNDP regional project, background, objectives and requirements of the Covenant of Mayors delivered by Mr. Artem Kharazyan, CoM East Country Expert in Armenia. The webinar was followed by the online quiz. 

The names of the winners are:

• First place: Lilit Harutyunyan, Sisian
• Second place: Artak Rapyan, Artik
• Third place: Mary Harutyunyan, Yerevan

The awarding ceremonies were organized in Yerevan (August 11), Sisian (August 13), Artik (August 14). The winners received bicycles from the CoM East project and Union of Communities of Armenia, project partner. 

The publications about the awarding ceremonies of the winners of the online quiz had great involvment in social media: 11 121 reaches in Facebook pages of Covenant of Mayors East and Union of Communities of Armenia.
