The Energy Community Secretariat has launched the Heating and Cooling Network, which aims to support the use of renewables and waste heat in the district heating networks of the Energy Community countries.

The network will facilitate the exchange of good practice in modern technologies, policies and programmes among technical experts and policymakers. It will also inform the public on the benefits of using renewables and waste heat in district heating networks.

District heating and cooling offers opportunities to improve energy efficiency and savings and, if based on renewables, can contribute to mitigating climate change and meeting national targets under the Paris Agreement.

All interested candidates – district heating operators, regulatory bodies, central and local government experts, donors and financial institutions – are invited to join the network free of charge by registering online.
