European Union, 2020

On 30 September, Armenia hosted a webinar to present the outcomes of the support provided by ‘EU4Energy’ in developing an energy performance calculation methodology for buildings.

The online event presented a detailed action plan and roadmap, developed jointly with the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure and the State Committee for Urban Development. The aim of the two documents is to speed up the adoption of best EU practices in accordance with the Enhanced Partnership Agreement between Armenia and the EU and Directive 2010/31/EU on the energy performance of buildings (EPBD).

Participants discussed and agreed on the proposed steps and measures in the action plan for the next five years. Two categories of actions will ensure the proper enforcement of the EPBD requirements: core activities for developing the calculation methodology (legislative framework, building codes and calculation methodology) and supporting activities (capacity building, Information and awareness raising).

This activity is part of the ‘EU4Energy’ project, an EU-supported initiative providing technical assistance to Eastern partner countries that seek to enhance their energy sectors with best practices of the EU.
