Reacting to the climate change, 42 Belarusian cities and urban settlements have joined the ‘Covenant of Mayors - East’ initiative in order to address the climate change. In order to implement the Covenant, the cities taking brave and immediate steps, build new bike lanes, switch to more energy-effective street-lighting, design new green urban spaces etc.

EU Sustainable Energy Week (4-8 June 2018) is the annual flagship event uniting policy makers, authorities, industry, stakeholders, NGOs, researchers and academia in the European sustainable energy sector.

EU Sustainable Energy Week in Armenia

The EU has been and will continue supporting energy efficiency measures in Armenia, including for the 21 signatory municipalities of the Covenant of Mayors and more than 6,000 households which have benefited from EU-funded projects.

This publication examines how local authorities can reduce their dependence on external energy sources through the wise use of local resources and general reduction of energy consumption for municipal and residential needs in buildings, urban traffic and street lighting.
