Georgia, Tbilisi: Tbilisi ‘green’ buses

In the capital city of Georgia, Tbilisi, a fleet of low-floor and low-emission buses conforming to high safety standards and EU regulations replaced the old polluting buses with no air conditioning and unsuited to the needs of elderly or disabled people.

Energy efficiency measures at Tbilisi Baby House aimed at: improving the comfort level in the buildings; decreasing the energy consumption and the energy bill as well as contributing to the decrease of GHG emissions to the atmosphere and in general improving the environmental situation in Georgia.

Within the EU-funded « Access to Renewable and Efficient Energy in Vayk and Spitak Municipalities » (AREEM) project, replicable and efficient models of energy-saving schemes are developed and tested in the municipalities of Spitak and Vayk through the use of efficient measures and renewable energy sources in residential and public buildings.The project is implemented by Habitat for Humanity Armenia Foundation.
