The EU Delegation to Armenia shared a video on social media about the new solar power plant built in Vayots Dzor Province, Armenia.

The video demonstrates how the EU supports businesses and projects working on green technologies. With the EU’s help, the region now has 1.1 MWp installed capacity and produces 1,730 MWh energy per year. Some of the solar energy produced will be sold and re-invested in the region to create more jobs in the tourism sector, new tourist routes and information points.

The total cost of the project was over €2 million, of which the EU contributed €1.5 million.
