European Union, 2020

Today, Ukraine - together with its cities’ signatories of the Covenant of Mayors Agreement - joined the EU Sustainable Energy Week (EUSEW) celebrations ongoing throughout Europe and worldwide by launching a week-long information campaign marathon dedicated to energy efficiency, climate change mitigation and adaptation, and the environment.

This year, in light of COVID-19, all of the activities planned will happen entirely online. This will include online workshops and webinars, as well as contests and competitions, aiming to raise awareness of energy efficiency and renewable energy under the EUSEW banner.

To mark the beginning of EUSEW 2020 in Ukraine, the Head of the EU delegation to Ukraine, Matti Maasikas, has prepared an official video address.

Find out more about what is going on and how to take part in the activities being organised by visiting the Covenant of Mayors website, Facebook page or the Facebook page of the EU delegation in Ukraine. Here, you’ll find a schedule of all the online events that are being held as part of EU Sustainable Energy Week (June 23–28, 2020) in Ukraine.

This year, the event’s overall topic will be ‘Beyond the crisis: clean energy for green recovery and growth’. The EUSEW is the biggest event dedicated to renewables and efficient energy use in Europe. It is organised by the European Commission and brings together public authorities, private companies, non-governmental organisations and consumers to promote initiatives for saving energy and moving towards renewables for clean, secure and efficient power.
