On 12-13 March, experts from France and Latvia will visit Ukraine to share European best practice and experience from the EU Member States on public service obligations in the energy field.

The experts will meet with representatives of the country’s National Energy and Utilities Regulatory Commission and Ministry of Energy and Coal Industry of Ukraine.

The aim of the expert mission is to provide advice to the National Energy and Utilities Regulatory Commission on best practice in public service obligations issues. The experts will provide guidance on procedures, terms and conditions, as well as reimbursement for the provision of services included under such public service obligations.

The event has been organised by the European Commission’s Technical Assistance and Information Exchange Instrument (TAIEX), in cooperation with National Energy and Utilities Regulatory Commission.

TAIEX is a demand-driven tool that supports partner countries with the adaptation of national laws, regulations and quality standards to match those of EU Member States in the framework of Cooperation or Association Agreements signed with the EU. In the Eastern Neighbourhood, TAIEX works with Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine.
