As part of the EU’s assistance under the EU4Energy Programme, Energy Community Secretariat experts are assisting the Republic of Moldova in transposing two gas network codes from the Third Energy Package into the national legal framework.
A coordination meeting with the National Energy Regulatory Agency of Moldova, Moldovatransgaz and Moldovagaz took place on 1 April in Chisinau.
Network codes are technical rules supporting the implementation of the Third Energy Package of the EU. Once adopted, the Republic of Moldova will have rules in place that harmonise auctions when grid operators sell access to pipelines, as well as harmonised transmission tariff structures for gas.
As a Contracting Party to the Energy Community Treaty, the Republic of Moldova has an obligation to transpose the two network codes by 29 June 2019.
