Greencubator organised the Ukrainian finals of the global ClimateLaunchpad competition on 21 September in Ivano-Frankivsk. Ten teams out of 35 finalists have presented their green business ideas. The jury has selected two winners - Carbominer and EcoTyre. They will both represent Ukraine at the global finals on 14-15 November in the Netherlands and will compete with start-ups from 55 other countries.

First place winner Carbominer developed a technology for collecting carbon dioxide for greenhouses to use. The CO2 would contribute to speeding up the growth of vegetables. The start-up that won second place, EcoTyre, developed a technology for recycling car tyres based on the use of an electromagnetic field.

Roman Zinchenko, National Coordinator of the ClimateLaunchPad competition in Ukraine, said: “The amount of ideas and technologies with which the companies applied for the competition has increased substantially this year. We really hope to win the global competition.”

The Greencubator is organising the national stage for the ClimateLaunchpad competition for the fourth year in row in Ukraine. The ClimateLaunchpad competition is organised with financial support from the Green for Growth Fund Technical Assistance Facility and is co-financed by the EU in the framework of the EU4Energy initiative.
