The project on introducing of the PV micro solar power systems for electrification of off grid mountain villages was implemented in 87 villages in Georgia and aimed to eliminate energy poverty. It was financed by State Budget, implemented with technical assistance of USAID.

Children's thematic drawing competitions are one of the integral elements of the Sustainable Energy Week celebrations in Ukrainian CoM signatories. This year, the Covenant of Mayors East project team, together with the EU Delegation to Ukraine took the initiative to select the drawings of the winners of local competitions for the "Best of the best" competition and to determine the winners at the national level. 

The EU has published a study on the investment gaps in the energy, climate and environment sectors in municipalities in the Eastern partnership countries.

This report is about a study on the investment gaps in the energy, climate and environment sectors in municipalities in the Eastern partnership countries. With the growing pressure of climate change, municipalities in EaP countries often find it difficult to access funding and expertise for infrastructure projects in these areas. The study looks at the key obstacles, with focus on administrative-territorial organisation and the banking sector. It presents recommendations for municipalities, national authorities and future municipal programmes in the areas of energy, climate and environment.

By organizing 29 various digital and outdoor events the teams of 11 Georgian CoM signatories fought over the prizes in the CoM East contest for the "Best Digital Sustainable Energy Day-2020 Organizer", conducted by the CoM East together with the Energy Efficiency Center Georgia, which is the Covenant Supporter in Georgia. On July 10, 2020 during the online presentation of entries for the contest the best 3 organizers were announced. The best 3 organizers of the Sustainable Energy Days and prize winners became representatives of Mtskheta municipality - the 1st place, Gori and Bolnisi municipalities, the 2nd and 3rd place winners accordingly. All participating municipalities also received certificates of participation in Sustainable Energy Week EUSEW2020.

On June 25 the webinar on “Solar heating and photovoltaic systems and energy efficiency: technologies for green recovery and growth” was held for CoM signatories in Armenia in the framework of the EU Sustainable Energy Week (EUSEW2020). 

On June 24 the webinar on “Sustainable Energy Path to Post-pandemic Economic Recovery” was held for CoM signatories in Armenia in the framework of the EU Sustainable Energy Week (EUSEW2020). 

Energy Days on clean and efficient energy in various formats were being organised across Europe and Eastern Partnership countries, including Belarus.This year, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, most of the events moved to a new online format under the motto: “Beyond the Crisis: Clean Energy for Green Recovery and Growth”.

During the EU Sustainable Energy Week (EUSEW2020) CoM East project in cooperation with the Union of Communities of Armenia announced "Green and sustainable growth" photo (selfie) contest for teenagers representing the Covenant signatories in Armenia.

By sending their selfies shot against the renewable energy/energy efficiency technologies photo enthusiasts from Georgian CoM signatories fought over the prizes in the CoM East photo contest “We Go Sustainable”, conducted by the CoM East together with the Energy Efficiency Center Georgia, which is the Covenant Supporter in Georgia.
