The UNDP-GEF "Improving Energy Efficiency in Buildings" project, in cooperation with the Municipality of Yerevan, carried out the first ever large-scale thermal insulation of a multi-apartment building in Armenia.

A modern sustainable heating system was introduced in a Kindergarten in Zugdidi (Georgia) that uses local biomass (hazelnut shell) as a fuel.

Meeting this year’s challenge, the CoM East project team developed and organised 13 specific digital activities for the CoM Signatories in the Eastern Partnership countries, including webinars, quizzes, contests and competitions for representatives of local authorities, municipal energy teams, schoolchildren, youth and residents of Signatory cities. The winners received valuable prizes, such as bicycles, electric scooters, photo cameras, solar energy devices, portative chargeable batteries, certificates for planting greenery etc.

On June 23, a regional webinar for all Eastern Partnership countries dedicated to effective solutions of clean energy projects for green recovery and growth was held by the CoM East team in the framework of #EUSEW2020. Representatives of Signatories from EaP countries learned how Covid-19 affects the implementation of their SECAPs and competed for prizes.
