On 18 and 19 October, representatives of local authorities from the signatory cities of the EU-supported Covenant of Mayors East initiative met in Minsk to learn how to find funding opportunities for projects aimed at reducing negative environmental impacts.

Currently, more than 45 cities in Belarus have joined the Covenant of Mayors on Climate and Energy Initiative and have made voluntary commitments to reduce their greenhouse gas emissions by 30% by 2030.

During the two-day training, the participants learned to identify problems and financial institutions and donors that might support their projects. They also prepared project proposals, which were then discussed with experts.
