For more than a month, tens of thousands of citizens of Ukraine have been fleeing the war in search of asylum, and for more than a month, tens of thousands of citizens of Ukraine have been fleeing the war in search of asylum and security. The observers note the high level of mobilization of Moldovan residents, who joined forces to help the refugees, showed solidarity and humanity, extending a helping hand to our neighbors in need of support.

The mobilization of local authorities in Moldova is  impressive. If we look at the diversity of those who rushed to help, from ordinary people to local authorities in all corners of the country. We would like to talk about some of the cities and villages that are signatories of the European Covenant of Mayors Climate and Energy Initiative, which quickly took action, providing aid, money and housing for refugees. Currently, in the Republic of Moldova, more than 80 local authorities are parties to the Covenant of Mayors, along with more than 10,000 other localities at the European level, including the countries of the Eastern Partnership.
