Ukraine: Climate, Energy and Regional Cooperation

Climate change issues and the development of regional climate change adaptation policies are increasingly being raised at the level of coordinators of the Covenant of mayors in Ukraine.

So, on December 13, 2019, the Kharkiv City Council initiated a round table on climate and energy issues at the level of territorial communities and even the whole region.

The round table was joined by structural units of the Kharkiv Regional State Administration (Department of Economics, Department of Housing and Public Utilities, Department of Ecology, Department of Health Protection), representatives of the Ministry of Emergencies, leading universities of the city and territorial communities and cities of the region.

The main subject of discussion was climate change issues and how to assess the main climatic risks of the region in order to properly plan projects for adaptation to climate change at the regional level that would meet national policies and the needs of residents of the Kharkov region.
