An EU-funded project has announced a tender to find a contractor for the thermal modernisation of ‘Preschool 3’ in Hnivan, Ukraine. The project is implemented by the Hnivan City Council, within the ‘EU4Energy’ initiative and the programme Covenant of Mayors – Demonstration Projects.

The main works will include: replacing the heating system; installing new energy-saving windows and doors; insulating the facade, basement and flooring; replacing the roof; replacing interior lighting with new LED technology; installing a new ventilation system.

‘Preschool 3’ is one of the four municipal buildings in Hnivan, planned to undergo complete thermal modernisation in line with national and European standards. The project will also create a dedicated fund for making apartment buildings more energy efficient and installing energy monitoring systems in state-owned institutions.

‘Energy-effective Hnivan – energy policy for sustainable development of Hnivan town’ is the largest EU-supported project in Vinnytsia District in the field of energy efficiency. The project’s total budget is over €970,000, of which the EU will provide nearly €760,000. The project will run until 2021.

The application deadline is 3 May 2020.
