The residents of the homeowner association ‘Gerdan’ in the Ukrainian city of Ivano-Frankivsk have completed a comprehensive energy modernisation of their apartment buildings, which will allow them to save up to 50% on their utility bills. The homeowners only paid 20% of the total modernisation costs, as the rest was covered by the Energy Efficiency Fund (70%) and the local government (10%).

This was possible thanks to the programme ’Energodim’, which is implemented by the Energy Efficiency Fund in Ukraine with support from the EU and other international partners. The programme provides grants to homeowner associations to help make their apartment buildings more energy efficient.

The Energy Efficiency Fund actively supports and implements thermal modernisation activities in Ukraine and aims to bring Ukraine’s energy efficiency up to European standards by reducing the level of energy consumption and СО2 emissions in the residential sector.
