On 11 March, a total of 9 city and village councils in the Ukrainian region of Zaporizhzhia signed a memorandum of cooperation with the Energy Efficiency Fund (EEF). The signatories committed to implement large-scale thermal modernisation projects for making their residential buildings more energy efficient.

EEF Financial Director Vyacheslav Koval commented: “Cooperation with EEF helps to attract additional state funds to cities’ budget.” He further added that the implemented energy efficiency measures will help to reduce residents’ energy costs.

EEF actively supports and implements thermal modernisation activities in Ukraine and aims to bring Ukraine’s energy efficiency up to European standards by reducing the level of energy consumption and СО2 emissions in the residential sector. The EU is one of EEF’s biggest co-financers.
